Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, triage and prioritize emergency patients with speed and compassion
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on care plans
- Perform emergency procedures and monitor patient responses
- Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards and infection control
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure — ability to practice in California preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS highly desirable
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency environment with strong critical thinking
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current TB screening and immunizations per facility requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing assessment and triage principles
- Cardiac monitoring, IV therapy and medication administration
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Clinical decision-making under pressure and time management
- Patient- and family-centered care with strong interpersonal skills
