Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient charts and electronic records
• Assist with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, and feeding with dignity
• Follow infection prevention protocols and contribute to a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Active or eligible for New Mexico state CNA registry or licensure
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care settings is a plus
• Ability to work per-diem night shifts and adapt to variable schedules
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic patient care principles and infection control
• Competence with vital signs monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
• Familiarity with patient lifting/transfers and safe body mechanics
• Comfortable with basic charting and following care plans
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize patient needs
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
