Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions under PT supervision to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Implement individualized treatment plans and document patient progress accurately
• Assist with gait training, transfers, therapeutic exercise, and use of adaptive equipment
• Communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and functional goals
• Maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe, professional environment
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in California — required
• Completion of an accredited PTA program (associate degree or equivalent)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification — current
• Comfortable with documentation in electronic medical records and meeting productivity expectations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
• Previous experience in outpatient or acute rehab settings is a plus

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Graduation from a recognized PTA program and completion of required clinicals

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance and transfer training
• Familiarity with modalities and assistive device fitting
• Proficient documentation and clinical reasoning skills
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
• Patient education, motivation, and family-centered care approach
