Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on an oncology/medical-surgical unit
• Manage admissions, discharges and transitions with clear communication and clinical accuracy
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policy and protocol
• Perform assessments, monitor patient status and escalate changes promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Support families with education and empathetic communication during care episodes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• CNA license helpful if applicable to prior experience
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (as listed)
• Chemo Certification preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with oncology and med-surg patient populations
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
• Comfort with common unit procedures such as pelvic exams, echo and thoracentesis
• Ability to work in 12+ hour night shifts and manage patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Team-player mindset with strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Adherence to standard hospital policies and unit guidelines
