Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and manage the surgical services team to deliver safe, efficient, patient-focused care.
Supervise circulating RN activities and provide hands-on guidance during surgical procedures when needed.
Delegate tasks clearly and maintain high standards of operational efficiency across the department.
Identify department issues, implement short-term fixes and drive long-term process improvements.
Maintain composure and coordinate immediate responses during true emergencies to ensure patient safety.
Foster strong working relationships with physicians, ancillary departments, peers, and patients to support seamless care.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing — required.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent — required.
Minimum 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery — required.
Current California RN license — required.
Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications — required.
CNOR preferred.
One year post-anesthesia care experience preferred.
Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
Strong written and oral English communication skills — required.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Surgical services workflows and perioperative patient care
Patient assessment and emergency response in the surgical setting
Team leadership, supervision, and delegation
Problem solving and process improvement for clinical operations
Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
Ability to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and sit/stand for extended periods
