Roles & Responsibilities

Perform CT and general diagnostic radiographic exams with care and precision.
Prepare and administer contrast media and perform intravenous (IV) contrast injections safely.
Operate CT and X-ray equipment, ensuring image quality and proper patient positioning.
Maintain patient care standards: prepare patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications.
Execute quality assurance tasks, enforce radiation protection protocols, and support department policies.
Collaborate with the care team, communicate findings clearly, and contribute to excellent patient experiences.
Support the Radiology leadership by assuming responsibility for designated areas and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT) - required
Approved CPR certification - required
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification - desired / to be obtained as noted
Fluoroscopy permit (State of California) - to be obtained within 6 months of hire
Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification - desired
Advanced CT certification - desired
Experience: desired two years in diagnostic x-ray and one year in CT

Education

Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by the California Department of Health Services

Knowledge & Skills

Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT-specific imaging principles
Strong patient care and positioning skills
Competence in radiation physics, protection, and radiobiology
Quality assurance and image quality optimization
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to follow ARRT standards of ethics and departmental policies
