Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and operate a variety of ventilators including V60, GE R860 Carescape, Hamilton and transport vents to optimize patient respiratory support
• Perform and interpret ABGs to guide ventilator settings and clinical interventions
• Provide advanced airway management including intubation and emergency respiratory procedures
• Deliver acute and ED respiratory care including HFNC/Comfort Flow and noninvasive ventilation
• Use clinical judgment to adjust ventilator settings and implement evidence-based care plans
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Cerner EMR and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
• Assist with patient transport and management of transport ventilators when needed

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (acute care/ED preferred)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications required
• Demonstrated competency with ICU ventilators and ventilator management
• Experience with ABG draws and interpretation and with high flow nasal cannula systems
• Ability to work independently on night shifts and provide strong clinical judgment
• Comfortable using Cerner or other EMR systems; good documentation skills

Education

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and settings for adults (and familiarity with transport ventilators)
• ABG interpretation and critical thinking for ventilator adjustments
• Intubation support and advanced airway management
• High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) systems including Comfort Flow and Vapotherm
• Experience in ED and acute care environments with varied patient acuity
• Familiarity with V60, GE R860 Carescape, HT70, Hamilton C1, Bipap and related equipment
• Strong communication, teamwork and patient-family centered care skills
