Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction of an OT to help patients regain independence in activities of daily living
• Conduct timely and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care and optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and community resources
• Participate in team meetings, discharge planning, and continuity of care to ensure seamless transitions
• Maintain professional standards, comply with facility policies, and support quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential (required)
• Active or eligible for Maryland state licensure/registration for COTAs
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable with documentation in electronic health records and meeting productivity expectations
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams
• Willingness to work a 14-week travel/contract assignment starting April 13, 2026

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, therapeutic interventions, and ADL training
• Familiarity with common rehab equipment and adaptive devices
• Good clinical reasoning and goal-setting abilities
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to teach patients and caregivers in a clear, compassionate way
• Team-oriented mindset with good time management and organizational skills
