Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies safely and accurately following protocol
• Access, manage and maintain ports and central lines with precision and attention to infection prevention
• Start and maintain IVs, including PICC line care and central line blood draws as needed
• Document all care thoroughly in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side-effect management and home care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (pharmacy, social services, radiology, PT, etc.) to coordinate patient-centered care
• Monitor patients for infusion reactions and intervene promptly to ensure patient safety
• Contribute to a positive, patient-focused clinic culture and support throughput across 16 treatment rooms

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio
• Chemotherapy certification required (CHEMO CERT REQUIRED)
• ONS/OCN certification required
• BLS certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of outpatient infusion/oncology nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation (required)
• Experience with port and central line management, IV therapy/infusions, and outpatient oncology workflows
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Education

• Active RN license (state of practice)
• Certifications: Chemotherapy certification, ONS/OCN (required); BLS preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in IV therapy and infusion nursing
• Chemotherapy administration and oncologic treatment knowledge
• Port and central line care, including blood draws and maintenance
• Familiarity with EPIC for charting and medication documentation
• Ability to manage a typical day ratio of approximately 1:10 in outpatient infusion
• Comfort working with adult, adolescent and geriatric patient populations
• Excellent patient education, communication and critical thinking skills
