Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings and respiratory support for critically ill adults
• Administer and monitor continuous IV sedation safely and effectively
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
• Respond rapidly to clinical emergencies and participate in emergency response teams
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT and social work
• Provide patient-centered critical care for adults and geriatric populations with diagnoses like sepsis, DKA, pneumonia and overdose
• Accurately document care in Epic and communicate clinical changes during handoffs
• Support unit staffing needs by flexing to meet patient care demands

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent critical care nursing experience
• Experience with 1:2 ICU-level patient ratios
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proven skills in ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Comfortable charting in Epic (preferred)
• Willingness to float between Medical and Surgical ICU and work night shifts with every-other-weekend coverage
• Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and rapid response processes

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing fundamentals and ICU workflows
• Ventilator management and respiratory support strategies
• Continuous cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• Management of continuous IV sedation and related medication monitoring
• Emergency response and rapid assessment in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with Epic for documentation and communication
• Comfort working with adult and geriatric critical care populations
