Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical/telemetry unit
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document them accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in the electronic medical record
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and promote patient safety
• Support smooth transitions of care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS are a plus
• Experience in medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and assessment skills
• Comfortable using electronic medical record systems and following unit protocols
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - required
• BSN preferred but candidates with ADN and equivalent experience are welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical and telemetry patient care
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Proficiency with electronic charting and documentation standards
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle a fast-paced environment
• Patient education and discharge planning skills
• Strong teamwork, conflict resolution, and patient advocacy abilities
