Roles & Responsibilities

Provide attentive, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
Perform thorough assessments, document findings, and escalate changes in condition
Administer medications and treatments safely and per policy
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and follow care plans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
Maintain accurate, timely charting in the patient record
Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Alabama (or compact eligibility)
Recent Med/Surg nursing experience and comfort working 12-hour shifts
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
Strong clinical assessment and prioritization skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and interventions
Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
Proficient with patient assessment and monitoring for acute changes
Comfortable using electronic health records and clear documentation practices
Good communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities
