Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality med/surg nursing care with special attention to pediatric patients
• Perform thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on condition management and post-discharge plans, empowering them to participate in care
• Document clinical care clearly and timely in the medical record to ensure continuity and safety
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate concerns to providers as needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Missouri license required or compact RN eligible)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; pediatric certifications (PALS) preferred
• Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing with pediatric patient care
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med/surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
• Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
• Comfortable with clinical documentation in electronic medical records
• Excellent communication skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm in fast-paced clinical situations
