Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to med/surg and pediatric patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate clinical changes promptly
• Administer medications, treatments and IV therapy safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and follow individualized care plans
• Document patient care and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Support families with education and clear communication during the patient stay
• Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or eligibility for licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing and/or pediatrics preferred
• Comfort working with pediatric patients and collaborating with family-centered care teams
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills
• Ability to complete orientation and unit competency validation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles
• Pediatric care fundamentals and family-centered communication
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• IV therapy and basic pediatric emergency response
• EMR/charting proficiency and accurate clinical documentation
• Time management, multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced unit
