Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient encounters and clinical interventions clearly in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana (or multi-state compact where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS a plus
• Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Active clinical competency in IV therapy, medication administration, and assessment skills
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking abilities

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Medication administration and safe IV management
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a busy unit
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary staff
