Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for mixed Med/Surg populations on a 30-bed unit
• Assess patient needs, prioritize care, and manage a 5-6:1 patient ratio safely and effectively
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating to appropriate teams when needed
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital policies and protocols
• Support trauma-informed care practices appropriate for a Level 1 trauma setting
• Demonstrate professionalism, timeliness, and a positive attitude to foster a strong team culture

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center or a mid-to-large hospital is required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work a 5-6:1 ratio safely
• Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player who communicates clearly

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg clinical skills and patient assessment
• Experience managing acute and post-surgical patients
• Trauma awareness and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Proficient clinical documentation and time-management skills
• Team collaboration, clear communication, and adaptability in a busy unit
