Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality ICU nursing care to critically ill patients
• Perform timely assessments and intervene quickly when a patient's condition changes
• Administer medications, manage infusions and titrate vasoactives per orders
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced monitoring and life-support equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Educate patients and families about treatments, prognosis, and discharge plans
• Advocate for patient safety and quality improvement in the ICU environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California licensure required or eligible) — current, unencumbered
• BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior ICU/critical care experience preferred; strong clinical assessment skills a must
• Comfort with ventilator care, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical-care medications
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to work independently on overnight shifts
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of critical care assessment and prioritization
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and invasive lines
• Skilled in medication administration and titration for critically ill patients
• Ability to interpret labs and monitor trends to inform care decisions
• Effective documentation practices and electronic charting comfort
• Calm, decisive clinical judgment in high-acuity situations
