Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care for adult ICU patients
• Assess, monitor and respond to changes in patient condition with urgency and judgment
• Administer medications, IV therapies and complex treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care and clinical observations thoroughly and timely in the medical record
• Participate in bedside procedures and support emergency responses and codes
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license; active in Alabama or eligible to obtain state licensure
• Prior ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
• BLS certification required; ACLS and other critical care certifications preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with high-acuity monitoring and interventions
• Ability to work effectively on a fast-paced team and communicate clearly with patients and colleagues

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and patient monitoring
• Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Ability to respond to codes and rapid changes in clinical status
• Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Excellent teamwork, communication and situational awareness
