Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients and their families
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex ventilator care per protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
• Perform thorough documentation in the electronic health record and ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN where applicable)
• BLS required; ACLS and critical care certifications preferred
• Previous ICU experience strongly preferred (new grads with critical care training may be considered)
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to function in high-acuity environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled with ventilator management and advanced airway support
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Proficient in electronic health record documentation and medication administration systems
• Ability to prioritize care for multiple critically ill patients
• Strong infection control practices and adherence to safety protocols
