Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists) to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex interventions with precision and clinical judgment
• Perform thorough assessments, document findings clearly, and escalate concerns promptly to ensure optimal outcomes
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and safety practices to enhance patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Minimum clinical ICU experience (prior critical care experience highly preferred)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification required or must obtain per facility policy
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with experience managing acutely ill adult patients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
• Compliance with facility onboarding requirements and ability to complete required trainings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and vasoactive medication titration
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Skillful use of critical care equipment and familiarity with common ICU protocols
• Strong prioritization, time management, and multitasking abilities in high-acuity settings
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient/family education skills
