Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and treat patients in a busy 28-bed emergency department with trauma bays and behavioral health rooms
• Deliver timely, evidence-based emergency care including advanced cardiac and pediatric life support interventions
• Continuously monitor cardiac patients and respond to changes in condition
• Perform and assist with procedures, including sedation when qualified
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and other team members to manage high patient turnover
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Prioritize patient safety and dignity, including care for behavioral health patients in dedicated rooms

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Hawaii required by the start of the assignment
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Active Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Experience in emergency nursing, trauma care, and cardiac monitoring preferred
• Procedural Sedation, TMCC, and EMPC certifications are preferred but not required
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing and trauma care skills
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and interpreting telemetry
• Comfort managing behavioral health patients in the ED setting
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapid patient turnover
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Competence with procedural support and patient safety protocols
