Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on treatment and therapeutic interventions to improve patient function
• Assess patient progress and update goals, documenting clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate closely with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility strategies
• Ensure a safe environment by following facility policies, infection control, and safety protocols
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through professional, compassionate care

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of Maine, or ability to obtain licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Previous experience in rehabilitation or related settings is preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, manual therapy skills, and familiarity with functional mobility training
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred or Bachelor's/Master’s in Physical Therapy as applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment of mobility, balance, strength, and functional limitations
• Proficient with common rehab interventions, gait training, and adaptive equipment
• Comfortable documenting in electronic medical records and following care pathways
• Ability to teach and motivate patients and caregivers with clear, compassionate instruction
• Good time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
