Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents every shift
• Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Support mealtime, feeding assistance, and safe dining practices
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Promote a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents and families

Qualifications

• Valid GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification (required)
• Previous experience caring for elderly adults or in long-term care is preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA / nursing assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and safe resident handling
• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic supportive care
• Basic vital sign monitoring and observation skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Understanding of infection control and resident safety practices
• Comfortable with straightforward documentation and care reporting
