Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in a 35-bed PCU
Manage and titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
Monitor continuous EEG and respond to changing patient conditions
Collaborate with charge nurse and techs to maintain a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to support the team
Bring a positive attitude and critical thinking to a fast-paced unit

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Minimum 2 years of PCU or similar experience preferred
Willingness to take a pass/fail open-book exam during orientation (90% required)
Must comply with artificial nail policy in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to titrate multiple cardiac and neurological drips
Comfort with continuous EEG monitoring and stroke care
Adaptability to float across different units
