Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Day and Night shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM / 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating every other weekend

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide intermediate care for patients with cardiovascular conditions, including post-surgical thoracic, EP, and structural heart patients
Titrate and manage critical drips such as Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, and more
Interpret telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiologists to deliver comprehensive care
Float to same-level and lower-acuity units as needed
Maintain a 1:4 or 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio for post-surgical patients

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
At least 1 year of recent CVU or intermediate care experience
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Current driver's license (required for submittal to verify 50-mile radius)
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in titrating vasoactive drips (e.g., amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine)
Skilled in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Knowledge of BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula equipment
Comfortable working in a fast-paced cardiovascular unit
