Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced PCU setting
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes conditions
• Titrate and manage continuous IV drips such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to support team coverage
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to respond to changing patient conditions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or similar acute care experience preferred
• Driver's license required for compliance with radius rule
• Ability to pass an open-book skills exam during orientation (90% pass rate required)
• No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

• Strong clinical assessment and titration skills for critical drips
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Positive attitude and willingness to help others
• Critical thinking and problem-solving in high-acuity situations
• Proficiency in continuous EEG monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
