Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-19-2026

End Date: 09-18-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with rotating on-call after 4:30 PM and rotating weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures including cardiac, SPECT, bone scans, bleed studies, and gastric emptying
Operate GE nuclear medicine equipment and manage images using Radnet and Merge Unity PACS
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals under protocols
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals
Float to Mercy Downtown location as needed (approximately 6.5 miles away)

Qualifications

Current BLS certification from AHA
Valid California Nuclear Medicine Technologist License (NMTL)
Minimum 2 years of experience in nuclear medicine
Proficiency in cardiac imaging, SPECT, bone scans, and gastric emptying studies
Experience with GE equipment and Radnet/Merge Unity EMR/PACS

Knowledge & Skills

Nuclear medicine imaging techniques for cardiac and general studies
Radiation safety and proper handling of radiopharmaceuticals
GE gamma camera operation
EMR and PACS systems: Radnet and Merge Unity
Patient assessment and communication
Problem-solving and adaptability
