Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in the Stepdown Unit
Monitor and assess patients’ clinical status, including telemetry and vital signs
Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team
Document patient care thoroughly and communicate changes promptly
Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions
Respond quickly to emergencies and escalate concerns as needed

Qualifications

Current RN license in Louisiana or eligibility for state licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Prior experience in Stepdown, progressive care, or similar acute care settings preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
Competence in IV therapy, medication administration, and titratable drips
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Excellent prioritization and time management under pressure
Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
