Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
Assist with mobility and safe transfers to promote independence and prevent falls
Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
Document care accurately and promptly in resident charts or electronic records
Support individualized care plans and participate in team meetings to coordinate excellent care
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (Connecticut certification preferred)
State registration as required for CNAs working in Connecticut
Basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Compassionate patient-centered approach and reliable attendance

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
Basic vital signs and clinical observation skills
Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
Good documentation practices and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills for resident and family interactions
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based setting
