Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed), RN - SDU

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to SDU patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly in the record
Support patient and family education, discharge planning and transitions of care
Actively participate in unit-based performance improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Louisiana) or eligibility to obtain
Previous experience or interest in a Special/Step-Down Unit (SDU) is a plus
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS encouraged
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage acutely ill patients
Excellent communication, teamwork and critical thinking abilities

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where available.

Knowledge & Skills

Assessment and monitoring of intermediate-acuity patients
Familiarity with medication administration best practices
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient needs
Comfortable collaborating with physicians and the care team
Proficient documentation habits and attention to detail
