Location: Marrero, LA

Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 10.5-hour shifts; schedule to be confirmed (specific start/end times and days TBD); shift type: PACU
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate post-anesthesia nursing care for surgical patients
- Assess and monitor patient status including airway, breathing and circulation
- Administer medications and pain management per protocol and physician orders
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the perioperative team to optimize outcomes
- Perform timely and accurate documentation in the patient medical record
- Educate patients and families about post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as appropriate
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential
- PACU experience strongly preferred
- Active or eligible RN licensure for Louisiana
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained upon hire
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring
- Pain management and medication administration
- Airway management and basic emergency response
- Familiarity with perioperative workflows and PACU protocols
- Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and charting
