Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and 3rd holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Admit, discharge, and transfer patients across MedSurg and ER settings
Titrate critical medications including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs and manage PICC lines and ports with confidence
Respond swiftly to codes, traumas, and rapid response situations
Read and interpret your own cardiac strips while providing bedside care
Complete EKGs and support patients through hypertensive crises, pneumonia, and bowel obstructions
Float between the 9-bed MedSurg unit and 3-bay ER as census demands
Collaborate directly with hospitalists in a close-knit, independent environment

Qualifications

Active RN license in Minnesota or compact state
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Minimum one year of ER experience strongly preferred
Comfortable working with minimal staffing and high independence
Experience with Meditech EMR, Hamilton T1 vents, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen a plus

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for swing-bed to trauma-level patients
Ability to read cardiac strips and perform EKGs independently
Familiarity with EMTALA regulations and flight transport coordination
Excellent communication when working directly with hospitalists
Adaptability to float between MedSurg and ER with minimal notice
