Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to a diverse patient population
Perform thorough patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
Administer medications, monitor response and document accurately in the medical record
Educate patients and families on condition, discharge planning and follow-up care
Respond to changes in patient status and escalate concerns in a timely manner

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license where applicable
Clinical Med/Surg experience preferred; strong clinical judgment and prioritization skills
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or available through employer
Valid immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing practices and patient assessment
Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy basics
Comfortable with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Strong critical thinking, time management and patient advocacy skills
Ability to collaborate with physicians, therapists and ancillary staff
