Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients
Assess patient condition, recognize changes, and intervene appropriately
Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures and discharge needs
Maintain accurate, timely charting in the facility’s electronic health record
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Georgia (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or available
Med/Surg clinical experience preferred (new grads with strong Med/Surg clinical rotations encouraged to apply)
Strong patient assessment, IV and medication administration skills
Excellent communication, teamwork and time-management skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid clinical judgment in adult Med/Surg care
Proficiency with patient monitoring and documentation
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and charting best practices
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a dynamic patient assignment
Effective patient and family education techniques
