Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes effectively to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record
• Support unit flow and contribute to a positive, safety-focused work environment

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (Louisiana RN license preferred or compact RN where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications such as ACLS preferred
• Experience or strong familiarity with Medical-Surgical nursing care
• Comfort with 12-hour nursing shifts and the demands of acute care
• Strong communication, clinical assessment, and medication administration skills
• Ability to pass facility onboarding, background checks, and required health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical judgment for adult med-surg populations
• IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care fundamentals
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Time management, prioritization, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting
• Infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Ability to educate patients and coordinate multidisciplinary care
