Location: Seward, AK
Start Date: 05-12-2026
End Date: 11-10-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable 12-hour shifts (traveler's choice). Options: 4x12 or 3x12. Day shift: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM; Night shift: 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM. Shifts will be either Days or Nights (no routine rotation), schedule set per facility needs and may include weekends and holiday coverage as required.
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for long-term care residents, delivering compassionate, patient-centered treatment
- Administer IV therapy, medications, IV hydration, and manage peripheral lines safely and according to policy
- Perform respiratory treatments and oxygen administration, and support residents with respiratory needs
- Manage enteral feedings (G-tube/PEG) and assist with specialized devices such as Duopa pumps
- Perform phlebotomy and monitor implanted glucose sensors and accuchecks to support diabetes care
- Carry out wound care and relevant assessments, documenting care accurately in ECS charting system
- Support peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous) and other specialty procedures within scope of practice
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (including social services) to support residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, TBI and other LTC-appropriate diagnoses
- Float within scope to meet facility needs and maintain resident safety and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license in hand (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required (LTC experience specifically required)
- Previous travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers not accepted
- BLS certification required
- Ability to safely operate within a 1:20 patient ratio and manage tenured LTC caseloads
- Willingness to work assigned holidays per contract requirements and adhere to RTO restrictions (submit RTO with submittal)
- Must have permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required if using facility-provided rental vehicle
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with ECS charting and accurate documentation practices
- Skilled in IV therapy/medication administration and peripheral line care
- Experience with oxygen administration and respiratory treatments (nebulizers)
- Competence in wound care, phlebotomy, and PEG/G-tube feedings
- Familiarity with implanted glucose sensors, accuchecks, and diabetic monitoring
- Comfortable supporting residents with cognitive impairments, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and complex LTC needs
- Ability to operate lifts, vital sign machines, glucose monitors, and EKG equipment as needed
- Strong communication, teamwork, and float-capable mindset to meet dynamic facility needs
