Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the OR during cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Provide personalized, compassionate care to laboring patients including fetal monitoring and medication titration
• Perform thorough newborn assessments and routine baby care
• Float to postpartum unit to support mothers and newborns as needed
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of nurses, residents, anesthesiologists, and OB techs
• Titrate critical drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain medications with precision
• Maintain a calm, supportive environment for both high-risk and routine obstetric patients

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact state)
• BLS and NRP certifications are required (must be current)
• At least 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience
• Ability to circulate in OR and perform newborn assessments
• Driver's license required for verification of 50-mile radius rule
• Flexibility to float to postpartum and occasional sitter duties

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation skills (EFM system: Obix)
• Knowledge of high-risk OB complications and interventions
• Proficiency in titrating Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain medications
• Excellent teamwork, positive attitude, and adaptability
• Understanding of AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team
