Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret complex physiological data and respond quickly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute patient care plans
• Operate and manage advanced ICU equipment, including ventilators and infusion devices
• Document assessments and interventions clearly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact RN license where applicable
• Recent ICU experience preferred; comfort with ventilators and vasoactive drips
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization and time management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in fast-paced settings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of orientation and unit-specific competencies as required by facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and management of critically ill adults
• Ventilator management and respiratory care basics
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with common ICU medications and infusion titration
• Proficient clinical documentation and bedside charting
• Ability to teach and support patients and their families
