Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to a diverse patient population in our 33-bed ICU, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis cases
• Titrate critical drips such as cardiac and sedation medications with confidence and precision
• Interpret telemetry strips and manage GE monitors while collaborating with telemetry technicians
• Float to PCU or MedSurg units when needed, maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios
• Work collaboratively with nurse aides and respiratory therapists to ensure holistic patient care
• Participate in self-scheduling to foster work-life balance and team cohesion

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (NLC)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (must be current)
• Driver's license required to verify distance from facility
• Willingness to adhere to facility policies including artificial nail prohibition
• Ability to pass an open-book orientation exam with a 90% score

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in managing ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Proficiency in titrating and monitoring cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Strong ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and document strips
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability to float between units and handle varying patient acuities
