Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate total patient care using the nursing process to ensure excellent ER outcomes
• Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments and triage to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
• Provide clear, compassionate patient teaching and discharge instructions that patients and families can act on
• Maintain high-quality clinical documentation to support patient safety and continuity of care
• Supervise and coordinate ancillary personnel to deliver efficient, team-based care
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to drive best-practice emergency care

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license (mandatory) — you must be licensed to practice in Iowa
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• PALS and TNCC listed as required certifications for this role (bring current copies)
• Completion of CareLearning education modules prior to start
• Immunization compliance, negative 2-step Mantoux or QuantiFERON Gold, recent physical, and 10-panel drug screen as part of onboarding
• Criminal background checks and required federal/state checks completed within required timeframes
• Experience in emergency nursing preferred but not required — bring your calm, critical-thinking skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN acceptable as stated)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong command of the nursing process and clinical documentation
• Skilled in patient assessment, triage, and emergency interventions
• Patient education and clear communication with families and care teams
• Ability to supervise and coordinate ancillary personnel effectively
• Comfort with fast-paced ER workflows and prioritizing multiple patients
• Familiarity with hospital onboarding requirements and compliance processes
