Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Various 12-hour shifts (e.g., 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM), with every other weekend requirement

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert emergency care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced ER
Manage trauma cases and stabilize critical patients with advanced interventions
Collaborate with physicians, midlevels, and multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal outcomes
Triage patients efficiently and prioritize care based on acuity
Document accurately in Cerner (First Net) EMR system
Support fast track area from 9am-10pm for lower acuity patients
Take charge nurse role when needed, managing patient flow and team coordination

Qualifications

Active RN license in California
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Minimum 3-5 years of recent ER experience
Level III trauma experience or above strongly preferred
Cerner EMR proficiency preferred
Ability to handle high patient volume (approx. 100 visits/day)
Comfortable treating pediatric patients (500-600/month)

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of emergency nursing practices and trauma care
Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work efficiently in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Proficiency with monitoring equipment and ventilator management
