Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a 12-hour shift
• Assess, monitor and document patient status and respond to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, procedures and follow-up
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the facility EMR
• Support quality improvement initiatives and uphold safety standards

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or compact RN license if applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by unit
• Prior acute care or long-term care nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of nursing assessment and patient care planning
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
• Infection control practices and safety protocols
• Strong communication, organization and time-management skills
