House Supervisor - Patient Flow

Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate patient flow across the hospital during night hours, ensuring timely admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and constructive feedback to nursing and support staff to maintain high-quality care.
- Interpret and apply hospital policies and procedures; make administrative decisions in collaboration with clinical leaders and the CNO.
- Organize workflow and delegate duties so staff understand responsibilities and patient care remains seamless.
- Troubleshoot clinical and operational issues as they arise, escalating appropriately and partnering with multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor staff productivity and assist with performance-related conversations and development plans.
- Respond to patient and family concerns with empathy, professionalism, and timely resolution to enhance patient experience.
- Serve as a liaison between departments and help initiate special projects that improve processes and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Montana (required).
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience in a hospital setting, with recent ICU experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
- ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Experience with ventilator support, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and multiple IV pumps.
- Proven leadership or resource nurse experience, with strong interpersonal and critical-thinking skills.
- Comfort working with patient populations from infancy through geriatrics.
Education
- Degree from a Nursing Program (acceptable nursing diploma/ADN/BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient flow management and bed/resource coordination
- Nurse supervision, team coaching, and performance feedback
- Clinical decision making in acute and post-operative care
- Advanced cardiac monitoring and ventilator management
- Experience with invasive lines, chest tubes, and IV pump management
- Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to initiate and drive process improvement projects
