EEG Technologist - EMU
Location: West Hollywood, CA
Start Date: 05-11-2026
End Date: 08-10-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 day schedule (four 10-hour day shifts per week), 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, day shift; weekend coverage required (variable) and included in rotation; on-call rotation required
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform EEG hookups and long-term/video monitoring with precision and care
- Check, operate and calibrate EMG/EEG equipment (Nihon Kohden and Natus) and troubleshoot software issues
- Identify and correct artifact by adjusting or replacing electrodes to ensure clean data
- Monitor patients for seizures, prioritize patient safety and notify nursing staff or on-call physician per protocol
- Mark and clip relevant EEG data for physician review each morning
- Communicate clearly with physicians, reading fellows, supervisors and external monitoring partners
- Manage STAT long-term monitoring requests from ICU/NICU and coordinate handoffs with monitoring company when needed
- Support both adult and pediatric EMU workflows and maintain accurate documentation
Qualifications
- R.EEGT required at time of submission
- BLS required
- CLTM preferred (nice-to-have)
- Minimum 2 years of EEG/inpatient experience required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Active license/certification required (pending licenses not accepted)
- Comfortable working with adult and pediatric populations and in an on-call/weekend rotation
- Familiarity with Nihon Kohden and Natus equipment
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Electrode placement and EEG hookup expertise
- Long-term monitoring and video EEG experience
- Artifact identification and remediation
- EEG data marking, clipping and basic interpretation to follow seizure protocols
- EMG/electrophysiology equipment calibration and troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate findings succinctly to physicians and monitoring partners
- Experience with STAT hookups and rapid coordination across teams
- Familiarity with adult and pediatric EMU workflows
