Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients, ensuring comfort and dignity
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and document patient status and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility—help with transfers, ambulation, and positioning per care plan
• Maintain clean, safe patient environments and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Participate in shift handoffs and accurate charting to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Eligibility or registration to practice as a CNA in Pennsylvania
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a care team

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• State-approved CNA training program completion and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance
• Basic understanding of infection control and patient safety practices
• Good charting and documentation habits
• Ability to follow care plans and medication administration observations
• Time management skills to prioritize patient needs during an 8-hour shift
