Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
• Assist with feeding and dietary needs while encouraging resident dignity and independence
• Document care provided in resident charts and communicate effectively with the care team
• Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, offering emotional support and advocacy

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Connecticut (or eligible and able to obtain prior to start)
• CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Demonstrated patient-focused attitude, strong communication skills, and reliability
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for resident care (lifting, standing, assisting with mobility)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing changes in condition
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting and clear documentation practices
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team
• Basic infection control practices and attention to safety procedures
