Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and peripheral vascular procedures to ensure high-quality imaging and patient outcomes
• Prepare patients and procedure rooms, partnering with RNs to ensure safe, efficient starts and proper consent/documentation before every case
• Operate fluoroscopy/X-ray equipment accurately and independently while maintaining strict radiation safety compliance
• Obtain hemostasis safely after procedures and support post-procedure patient care
• Accurately monitor and document all procedures in the MacLab system to maintain reliable clinical records
• Support rapid and infection-control–compliant turnover of procedure rooms after every case
• Administer intra-coronary medications per Bayhealth and unit policies when indicated
• Participate in continuing education, workshops, and unit mandatory trainings to grow professionally and maintain certifications

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (required)
• If from a Cardiovascular Technology program: RCIS required (obtain within 4 months if not already held)
• If from a Radiologic Technologist program: ARRT (RT) required (obtain within 4 months if not already held)
• ACLS and BLS required (to be obtained within 90 days if not already certified)
• Required experience: 18 months diagnostic radiology experience OR completion of an accredited radiologic technology or cardiovascular technology program with program director and clinical site preceptor recommendation letters
• Preferred: 2+ years experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab performing diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures; prior EP or interventional lab experience a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or Cardiovascular Technology (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular procedures
• Fluoroscopy/X-ray operation and radiation safety compliance
• MacLab procedural documentation and electronic record keeping
• Patient preparation for invasive procedures and hemostasis techniques
• Intra-coronary medication administration per protocol
• Strong teamwork and infection-control procedure room turnover skills
• Familiarity with ACLS/BLS algorithms and emergency response in the cath lab
