Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound exams with accuracy and compassion
• Capture high-quality images and Doppler studies to support clear clinical decisions
• Document findings and maintain accurate patient records in the imaging system
• Follow vascular imaging protocols and adjust technique based on clinical presentation
• Communicate results and clinical concerns promptly to the care team
• Ensure patient comfort, safety and dignity during exams
• Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and escalate issues when needed
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists and support staff to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required
• Proven competency in vascular sonography and Doppler techniques
• Comfortable with the rotating day schedule including occasional weekends
• Strong patient communication skills and professional bedside manner
• Current state licensure if applicable, and ability to meet credentialing requirements

Education

• Formal training in diagnostic medical sonography; Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathophysiology
• Skill with arterial and venous duplex protocols and Doppler waveform analysis
• Proficiency operating vascular ultrasound systems and transducers
• Familiarity with PACS, DICOM standards and electronic medical records
• Attention to detail, time management and the ability to prioritize urgent studies
• Infection control practices and patient safety procedures
