Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care in a busy emergency setting
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, IV therapy and wound management
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients while coordinating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Document patient assessments, interventions and discharge instructions clearly and professionally
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans and safe discharge practices
• Participate in department processes that support patient flow, quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Communicate effectively with the ED team, specialty consultants and support services to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; ability to practice in North Carolina or hold compact licensure
• Minimum 2+ years of recent experience in Emergency Department nursing (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients and prioritize tasks
• Ability to pass required background checks, health screenings and facility onboarding

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment skills
• Advanced cardiac and trauma care familiarity including EKG interpretation
• IV insertion, medication administration and basic procedural support
• Clear communication and teamwork in high-pressure environments
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting timely, accurate charts
• Commitment to infection control, patient safety and evidence-based practice
