Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform EEG and related neurodiagnostic studies with accuracy and compassion
• Set up and operate EEG and polysomnography equipment, ensuring high-quality recordings
• Care for patients during procedures — explain processes, ensure comfort, and observe safety
• Accurately document findings and maintain clear, timely records in the patient chart
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and nursing staff to support patient care plans
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with routine maintenance and calibration
• Participate in quality improvement activities and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Certification or training as an EEG Technologist or Polysomnographer preferred (examples: R. EEG T., RPSGT) — willingness to obtain accepted
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtainable upon hire
• Previous experience performing EEGs or sleep/EEG studies is strongly preferred
• Strong patient-care skills with the ability to interact kindly and professionally
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
• Excellent attention to detail and dependable documentation practices

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certificate in Neurodiagnostic Technology, Polysomnography, or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with EEG and polysomnography equipment and lead placement
• Understanding of basic neuroanatomy and common EEG patterns
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills for technical and patient-related issues
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions and team collaboration
• Good time management and ability to maintain workflow in a busy clinical setting
